GST Calculator
v1A price in, GST and total out.

How it works
Two directions, one rate
Add GST: the GST amount is the price times the rate, and the total is the price plus that amount. A Rs 1,000 price at 18% gives Rs 180 GST and a Rs 1,180 total.
Remove GST: the base price is the total divided by one plus the rate, and the GST amount is the total minus that base. A Rs 1,180 bill at 18% gives a Rs 1,000 base and Rs 180 GST. Amounts are shown to two decimals in Indian digit grouping.
Guide
When to add, when to remove
- Quoting a price: your price is usually ex-GST, so add GST to give the customer the final figure.
- Checking a bill: the bill total usually includes GST, so remove GST to see the base price and whether the tax line matches.
- Custom rates: pick Custom when the slab does not fit, or when a rate has changed since the preset list was written.
- Rounding: paise are rounded to two decimals at display. On large invoices, check the total against your own books, since rounding can differ by a paisa.
Questions
Which GST slabs does it cover?
The Indian GST slabs: 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%. A custom rate field covers anything else, including rates that change later.
Is this tax advice?
No. It is arithmetic only. It does not know which slab applies to your goods or services, and rates and rules change. Check the current law or a tax professional for anything you file.
Does it handle cess or surcharge?
No. It calculates GST only. Cess, surcharge and other levies are not included, so a bill with those will not match this tool exactly.
Do my amounts leave this page?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded, saved or sent anywhere.
